Hey kids, in our previous craft section, “Easy Flowers” (YW, April 16), we learned how to make different types of paper flowers. Today we are going to make a photo booth, or you can say a canvas and decorate it with these flowers and many more.
So let’s start making the frame from the cardboard.
Things you need:
- Colored papers, glitter sheets or sheets of hard paper (to stick on the frame).
- Cardboard (large recommended, you can use any flattened cardboard).
- hot glue
- white glue
- Decorative items (pompoms and beads, optional)
- paper cutter
Either choose a particular color theme or opt for multicolor, make at least three large flowers, six medium and four small flowers and at least 10 leaves of different sizes, photo 2.
I didn’t have the big cardboard, so I used the hard paper sheet for my frame; I then cut the cardboard lengthwise and glued it to the back of the frame. To make it easier, we make a rectangular frame, you can make it square, oval or any other shape. So, using a pencil and a ruler, draw the boundary of the frame, photo 3.
Draw another rectangle inside the first one. I kept the top side of the frame 5 inches wider, while the other three sides are 3 inches wide, photo 4
Using the paper cutter, very carefully cut out the rectangle from the inside, photo 5.
Carefully glue the pieces of cardboard to the main frame with hot glue, this makes the canvas hard, photos 6, 7 and 8.
Our frame is ready and it will look like picture 9.
It’s time to decorate the frame. Arrange the flowers
and the leaves are completely up to you. Whether you choose a corner or the top, arrange them first and see what looks best, image 10.
I only decorate the top of the frame; so after having arranged the flowers, glue them with hot glue in their respective places then glue the leaves around them, photos 11 and 12.
You can write any slogan, occasion title or even the date on any side of the frame.
Our beautiful floral photo booth frame is ready! Surprise your family and friends on this Eid day and capture the happy moments in a wonderful way!
