Wonder Craft: Easy Paper Flowers – Journal

Author’s photos

In this most auspicious month, we are all busy spending time worshiping and preparing for Eidul Fitr by going out shopping and also thinking about giving our house a new look. And, of course, who can forget the get-togethers with friends and family, fun chats, photo shoots and selfies.

Yes, that’s the idea behind our business today. We are going to make a beautiful flowery photo booth!

But since the craft needs more instructions and materials, we will do it in two parts, first we will make flowers of at least four types and in the next part we will create the cardboard stand and the will decorate. You can either make the flowers choosing any color theme or color them in multiple colors like I did.

Things you need:

  1. At least 4 colored papers
  2. Press twice
  3. Scissors
  4. Pencil
  5. white glue
  6. Ruler
  7. Hot glue (optional)
  8. Compass or any round mold

Directions:

  1. We will first make the accordion bloom. Cut a piece of paper 7 inches long and 3 inches wide and fold it accordion style, picture 2.

  2. Fold the accordion in half, cut the upper part into a triangle and stick double-sided tape inside then on the outside side; pictures 3 and 4.

  3. Open the accordion and glue the bottom side together to form a flower, photo 5.

  4. Let’s start with flower number 2, for this you need to cut out at least 24 circles from any colored paper, the circumference of the circles should not exceed 2.5 inches, photo 6.

  5. Put one circle aside and fold all the others in half (these are the petals), picture 7.

  6. Put some glue in the middle of the circle you have set aside and carefully glue the first petal. Once dry, open this petal and glue another one inside, photos 8 and 9.

  7. Keep gluing the petals together until you reach the starting point, see how pretty the flower looks, photo 10.

  8. The next is the Gerbera flower; for this, prepare five circles of different sizes, photo 11.

  9. Fold each circle three times, picture 12.

  10. Draw two arches on each folded piece and cut it out, image 13

  11. Unfold the paper and cut it from the arches down, leaving a little space at the end, photo 14.

  12. Carefully open the folded flower and gently bend from the edges, photo 15.

  13. Put glue on all the flowers and glue them in order of their size from largest to smallest on top of each other, and a different color dot for the center, photo 16.

  14. For our next flower which is a daisy, I used an 8 inch piece of two-ply crepe paper and cut it from the unjoined side while leaving an inch from the bottom.

  15. To make the center of the flower, use a strip of 4 inch paper 1 cm wide, make a fringe from the top and fold it to form a coil; picture 17.

  16. Place this spool at the beginning of the piece of crepe paper, and fold gently while sticking hot glue inside, photo 18 and 19.

Note: We will use these flowers to make the photo booth in our next DIY section.
