Two more Palestinian NYT freelancers caught praising Hitler, terrorists after cutting ties with another

Two other Palestinian journalists who worked with The New York Times covering the Israel-Gaza conflict were caught up with anti-Semitic and anti-Israel stories on social media.

Soliman Hijjy, an independent filmmaker whose work was featured by The Times between 2018 and 2021, praised Adolf Hitler in a 2012 Facebook post, writing “How awesome you are, Hitler” in Arabic, according to Akiva Van Koningsveld, editor of pro-HonestReporting, Israel’s media watchdog.

In a 2018 post, Hiijy shared a photo of himself with a caption that either translated to “I’m in tune like Hitler during the Holocaust” or “in a state of harmony like Hitler was during the Holocaust.” ‘Holocaust”.

In a separate article, he called the Hamas rocket fire at Israel “the resistance.”

According to HonestReporting, freelance photographer Hosam Salem praised a 2011 Jerusalem bus bombing that left two people dead and 39 injured.

Salem’s work was featured just this month amid heightened tensions between Israel and Gaza.

A Times spokesperson told HonestReporting that they are reviewing Hiijy and Salem’s social media posts. The spokesperson declined to comment further in response to Fox News’ inquiry.

Earlier this month, The Times severed ties with freelance producer and fixer Fady Hanona, who was credited by the newspaper in several articles published this month.

According to HonestReporting, Hanona has married multiple times anti-Semitic discourse. expressed hostility towards Israel and spoke favorably of Adolf Hitler.

I am for killing them wherever they are children, old people and soldiers,” Hanona wrote in Arabic on a Facebook post. , adding: “At the end of the day, the Jews are sons of dogs and I am in favor of killing them and burning them like Hitler did with them. I would be extremely happy,” including two smiley emojis .

In another Facebook post from August 2014, Hanona attributed a quote to the Nazi leader, writing: “As Hitler said, give me a Palestinian soldier and a German gun, and I will make Europe crawl on the tip of the fingers”.

Hanona opposed a ceasefire agreed at the time between Israel and Hamas, calling for ‘resistance’ and new attacks on Tel Aviv.

On Twitter, Hanona referenced Israel using quotes to undermine the legitimacy of the Jewish state, according to Koningsveld.

“The New York Times had only worked with this freelance journalist for the past few weeks. We no longer do that,” a Times spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
