Samsung is expanding the art collection for The Frame TV in India. The latter is already home to over 1,400 artworks, but Samsung today announced that Pattachitra art – an Indian tribal art form originating from Odisha – is coming to its TV lifestyle art store.

Pattachitra is an ancient form of painting on fabric and scrolls. This form of art is indicated in the name, because “Patta” means “cloth” and “chitra” means “image”. These paintings are usually defined by rich detail and the mythological themes they cover, as briefly featured in the official tweet below.

As of this writing, Samsung’s TV lifestyle art store features over 1,400 pieces of art. Besides the new Pattachitra Tribal Paintings Gallery, The Frame customers in India can also find Gond works from Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Odisha, as well as Kalighat paintings from Bengal , to name a few.

Samsung’s The Frame lifestyle TV is available in India in four sizes, including 43, 50, 55 and 75 inches. The TV features customizable bezel settings and the Quantum Dot panel boasts 100% color volume.

Samsung is offering The Frame in India at a starting price of INR 53,990 ($676) for the 43-inch model. The 50-inch and 55-inch The Frame variants cost INR 68,990 ($864) and INR 85,990 ($1,077) respectively. Finally, customers can choose the larger model with a 75-inch QLED display. Prices increase exponentially the larger the screen size, and the 75-inch The Frame can set you back INR 289,990 ($3,633).

Keep in mind that while you can get a free trial for Samsung’s Art Store when purchasing The Frame, the Art Store is a paid subscription service. It costs around $5 per month (depending on where you live) and provides access to all of the artwork available on the online store.
