Princess Takes Impressive Ski Jump in New Movie: Watch

Princess Ingrid Alexandra from Norway is a talented skier! On Wednesday, the Norwegian Royal House released a new film of the future Queen showing off her skiing skills as she, her younger brother Prince Sverre Magnus and their parents, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon, hurtle down the slopes of Imingfjell, a Norwegian mountain.

The video also featured an impressive jump from the 17-year-old! A spokesperson for the Royal House confirmed HELLO ! United States that it was the princess who jumped at the end of the film. The Royal House noted on instagram that skiing is one of Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s “great passions”.

For their ski trip, the royals packed chairs bought by Crown Prince Haakon, who saw an advertisement on Instagram. The princess opened up about her father’s funny online shopping failure in the video. “Dad advertised on Instagram and found camping chairs, which you can lean on. And that was the size when they arrived”, laughed Ingrid Alexandra (translated into English) while showing the camera the tiny chairs. “In the photo, I think they were eight times bigger.”

The family’s “dream day in the mountains” movie was released ahead of Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s birthday. The teenager, second in line to the Norwegian throne, will celebrate her 18th birthday on Friday, January 21.

Earlier this week, the Royal Household shared photos of Crown Prince Haakon’s first-born baby wearing a chic suit in his office. “On Friday January 21, Princess Ingrid Alexandra celebrates her 18th birthday. The Princess has her own office at the Palace, where these photos were taken,” they added. “As time passes she will receive more official assignments for the Royal Household, but in the next few years the Princess will focus on her education.”
