Man fills trolley with tools and flees Home Depot in Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL – More than $2,300 in tools, toilet paper, laundry detergent and other items were stolen from Home Depot in Downers Grove when a man filled a shopping cart and repeatedly left the store without paying.

A company asset protection specialist told police a man entered the store at 2000 Butterfield Rd. between February 23 and 26. The following items were stolen, according to a police report:

  • M18 Fuel miter saw
  • MKE M12 Green Cross Laser
  • Battery MKE M18 5AH
  • M12 Fuel Impact Driver
  • M18 Fuel Impact Driver
  • Tide Laundry Pods
  • Charmin Ultra Strong Toilet Paper 18 Pack

The total loss was assessed at $2,330. Anyone with information about this retail theft incident is asked to contact Downers Grove Police at 630-434-5600.
