“Nightmare Alley is an amazing movie with an amazing cast, kudos to @RealGDT,” Lady Gaga tweeted. She added: “Bradley is spectacular, Cate and Rooney beyond powerful! I liked it so much. Go see him !

With the Hangover star, the cast of the set also includes Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Willem DaFoe, Toni Colette, Richard Jenkins, Ron Perlman, Mary Steenburgen, and David Strathairn. Directed by Guillermo del Toro, the film centers on Stanton Carlisle (played by Cooper), an ambitious carnival member turned mentalist who pursues a dark path by tricking wealthy patrons into thinking he’s talking with the dead.

Despite the big names attached to the film, Alley of nightmares really struggled at the box office on its opening weekend. There were also those who confirmed his poor beginnings in post pictures of nearly empty cinemas on their Twitter and Instagram pages.

The film grossed $ 3 million in its first weekend, which was good enough for take # 5 at the weekend box office. Still, it was a rough start for a movie with a budget of $ 60 million – the most money Searchlight Pictures has ever spent on a movie, according to reports from Variety.

The new opus of the last one Spider Man the franchise took first place at the box office, raising $ 253 million in 4,336 theaters.

To complete the top five, Encanto, West Side Story and Ghostbusters: the afterlife, who finished fourth just ahead Alley of nightmares.
