Fujifilm confirms price increases for film, paper and related printed products

It looks like yesterday’s post about Fujifilm’s price increases was confirmed directly by Fujifilm. A press release on Fujifilm’s website says film prices have increased from today by 20-60%, with further increases to come on paper, chemicals and products and services. laboratory over the next two months.

They say the price increase is the result of a recent increase in raw material costs, as well as transportation, and lower demand for photography-related products. Maybe it just has to be a Fujifilm thing because the film is more popular now than it has been in years.

FUJIFILM Photo-Related Products Partial Price Revision Notice

Thank you for continuing to sponsor FUJIFILM products.

Fujifilm Imaging Systems Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President: Koji Matsumoto) reacted to the recent rise in raw material prices, transportation costs, etc., as well as the decline in demand for photography-related products. We have made efforts to absorb the costs by improving production efficiency and reducing costs, but since it is difficult to absorb the costs by enterprise efforts alone, we will revise the prices as follows.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but thank you for your patience.

We look forward to your continued sponsorship of Fujifilm products.

The only thing not mentioned in this release that was included in the photo posted to Twitter yesterday is the mention of the Instax Mini products, which were due to see a 15% price increase on May 20. It is not yet known whether or not these will see a price increase. But yesterday’s Tweet said this increase was not supposed to be announced until May 10, while the others were due for release on March 22. The press release on Fujifilm’s website is dated March 25.

So, we could still see these Instax price increases officially announced in a few weeks.

If your favorite Fujifilm and Instax film suppliers haven’t passed on their price increases yet, it might be a good idea to stock up now before they run out, or you’ll be spending more in a few weeks!
