From picture frames to paper cup fairy lights… 4 creative ways to use scraps

We can all be more resourceful and artistic when it comes to reusing or recycling waste in our homes. Whether you want to help your kids with their art school projects or decorate your home with quaint handmade ornaments, these best craft ideas will bring joy and fun.

Necessary material

Popsicle sticks, Scissors, Glue, Paint, Colored pencils, White paper, Plastic bottle, Marker, Paper cups, Fairy lights, CDs, Cardboard, Pen or pencil, Scissors, Glue

1. Popsicle Picture Frame

Paint the popsicle sticks on both sides. Glue them so that they form a square shape, with the ends sticking out on all four sides. Cut a piece of white paper larger than the square you made with the sticks. Glue the popsicle sticks in a square shape to the white paper. Your frame is ready for a photo or even a handmade drawing or painting.

2. Bottle bank

Clean and dry a plastic bottle. In the side of the bottle, cut a slit large enough to fit a coin through. Seal the edges with glued paper or tape to prevent tearing. Cover the bottle with colored or printed paper. You can also paint it or make patterns on it. You can even do it all and make it look like a pig with the same basic paper collage. Your piggy bank is ready.

3. Paper cup lights

Create a beautiful and unique string of lights from the leftover paper cups. Take paper cups and make two X-shaped slits in the bottom of each cup. Color the cups and set aside to dry. You can also embellish them with stones or sequins if you have them. Once dried, place the LED bulbs in each slot.

4. CD Coasters

Draw the frame of the CD with a pencil on the cardboard and cut it out. You need two circles for each coaster. Glue the cut cardboard circles to each side of the disc so that the center hole is closed. You can also use colored cardboard. Your CD coasters are ready to use.
