From today, FILM in Film Construction no longer refers only to motion pictures.
Executive producer Belinda Bradley and eminent photographer Victoria Baldwin are teaming up to launch a photography division of Film Construction.
Baldwin is a highly sought after food and still life photographer, and Bradley, an NZIPP Master Photographer with extensive experience in film and photography.
This is an exciting milestone in Film Construction’s 25-year journey. With growing demand for a stills offering from international and local clients, the decision to represent photographers is a welcome addition.
Baldwin is a leader in the photography community, having served as vice president of the AIPA and founder of the Women’s Labor Collective, an initiative to create equality in the industry. She appeared and hosted panels, webinars and workshops among her busy filming schedule.
Bradley says, “I’ve been thinking about a stills list for some time and couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Victoria to get things going. She’s a fantastic photographer with deep knowledge and skills, and a brain to boot. We look forward to growing the photography division with the same ethos of craftsmanship, quality and care for photography that we have with our filmmaking. And we can’t wait to start producing Victoria’s incredible work.
Baldwin says, “During my travels with AIPA and Women’s Work, I have collaborated with many of Aotearoa’s finest photographers. I am excited to be building a new home for them that will promote growth and provide excellent production support. We create a true hybrid offering with genuine experience in each area to deliver flawless film and stills productions.
The roster will house a diverse range of quality photographers who will cover specialties. Kicking off with food and product photographer Victoria Baldwin and beauty and portrait photographer Michele Aboud. Baldwin and Bradley look forward to welcoming new artists over the coming months.
Filmmakers have found a nurturing home at Film Construction for their careers, and now photographers will do the same.
