Background

Decarbonization efforts and ESG investments are accelerating, and packaging suppliers are focusing on reducing their environmental impact by developing biodegradable, plant-based plastic products. DNP offers eco-friendly packaging*1, featuring highly recyclable mono-materials, and by using paper instead of petroleum-derived plastic film, the new product will reduce CO2 emissions and help achieve of a recycling-oriented society.

Features

  • Obtaining high barrier properties in the paper
DNP has leveraged its proprietary *2 conversion technology to embed barrier properties into paper materials. Special paper is not required and general kraft paper can be used. We have also improved the resistance to bending and minimized the alteration of barrier properties following bending.
  • Improved recyclability and conductivity
No metallic material is used in the high barrier coating layer, which is made of a paper mono-material which improves recyclability. This high barrier paper consists of a thin layer of transparent material that does not affect radio wave transmission and can be used with RFID applications.
  • Its heat sealability will be useful for packaging applications
The new product also maintains a heat-sealable layer that can be heat-sealed.

Go forward

We aim to commercialize the mono-material sheet for packaging materials used with food, cosmetics and medical products, and expand our range of improved barrier properties.
