If you are a fan of film cameras you will probably be wondering where are the places where you can have them developed and scanned i.e. negatives to be processed and scanned into digital files (electronic copy) .

Here are several stores in Malaysia where you can have your film developed and scanned once you are done taking photos.

1. Darkroom8

Located just behind the famous Sunway Velocity Mall, darkroom8 is a popular film development and digitization store in the Klang Valley. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., while the express service closes at 4 p.m. The shop also sells different types of film and cameras.

2. Bang Bang Geng

This store located in Publika has been around for many years. With a mission to bring back the love of photography, Bang Bang Geng sells all kinds of film cameras and offers repair services, as well as development and scanning services.

3. Filmlab

Filmlab specializes in the processing and digitization of films. You can order the service online via their website herethen send the films along with your order and payment slip to:

The price for developing and scanning color negatives is RM18 and RM30 for black and white negatives. It takes 2-3 days to make them, depending on the website.

4. Tiga area

Zon Tiga is a photo bookstore in Petaling Jaya that offers developing and scanning as well as other services. They are closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Check them out instagram, Facebook and website if you plan to pay a visit!

5. Duck

The fifth film lab on the list is based in Johor Bahru. As the name suggests, they provide a developing and scanning service, and there are also items such as film rolls, reusable cameras, and photographic papers available for sale. Probably the most popular on the list, moviegoers have certainly heard of the name Film Never Die. The shop offers cameras, film and Polaroids for sale and provides development and scanning services for different types of film starting at RM8 only.

7. Lomocrewz

Lomocrewz is located in a cafe in Kuantan, Pahang. This is a vintage camera store in Malaysia that offers all kinds of film, camera and film processing, as well as camera repair services. It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the website offers 24-hour customer service.
