THEY say a picture is worth a thousand words, so a whole directory that has just been launched showcasing the memorable experiences and adventures to be had in Co Carlow must say a lot!

A new directory of Co Carlow royalty free images has recently been launched as part of Local Business Week 2022 by the Carlow County Council Local Business Office, Carlow Tourism and the County Carlow Chamber.

Photographer Tony Pleavin spent six months touring the vistas, valleys and visuals of Co Carlow to create the directory, which is free for everyone and available via Flickr.

“The genesis of this project came from our desire to promote Carlow, locally, nationally and internationally and to have a suite of images that can be used by anyone for the creation of promotional material for Co Carlow,” explained cathaoirleach from Carlow Co Council,” cllr Fintan Phelan.

“We encourage businesses, educators and individuals to use this collection in the development of materials.”

Michael Walsh, chairman of Carlow Tourism, said that as a co-operative marketing organization it is essential that Carlow Tourism has access to a variety of images that depict the county and its variety of experiences.

“We were delighted to be part of this project and look forward to developing the second part of the collection in 2022 with Finbarr O’Rourke,” added Mr. Walsh.

House Speaker Colin Duggan thanked all of the companies that helped them develop the collection.

“As a chamber, we are excited about this new collection, which can fuel various chamber marketing campaigns to market our cities and towns to local and wider audiences in the post-pandemic recovery phase, particularly for our leisure and our hotel business. sectors”.

Jim Woods, business adviser at the Local Enterprise Office, explains that the directory is free to everyone and available via Flickr.
