Canon EOS R launched in India, the company’s first full-frame mirrorless camera

Canon on Friday launched its first full-frame mirrorless digital camera, the EOS R, in India in New Delhi. It has been priced at Rs. 1,89,950 (body only) and with the EOS R gear (RF24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens), the price will likely be Rs. 2,78,945. Sales of the digital camera will begin in mid-October, the company said. In addition to the digital camera, Canon also unveiled 4 new RF lenses, two terrific EF telephoto lenses and a primary EF-M lens. Along with the all-new EOS R, 4 types of RF mount adapters have been released to complete the EOS R ecosystem.

“As one of the world leaders in the field of imaging, Canon has always kept innovation at the forefront, enabling technology to accompany the illustration of images. For more than 30 years, the legendary EOS system has provided photographers and filmmakers with the benchmark for high-quality imaging,” said Yoshiyuki Mizoguchi, Group Govt – ICB Merchandise Group, Canon.

The EOS R has some pretty spectacular specs. You get a 30.3-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, Canon’s DIGIC 8 image processor and a whopping 5,655 selectable AF factors. The ISO range is 100-40,000 and expandable, burst shooting can go up to 8 fps, and the company’s acclaimed Twin Pixel AF system can be supported. The EOS R offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, which helps you switch photos (true or reduced measurements) to your smartphone, as they are taken. You’ll be able to document video up to 4K at 30fps, with the help of Canon’s C-Log profile.

Canon has also introduced costs for its new lenses. The RF24-105mm f/4L IS USM will be available for a value of Rs. 88,995, the RF50mm f/1.2L USM will be available for a value of Rs. 1,85,995, the RF28-70mm f/2L USM will be available for a value of Rs. 2,42,995, the RF35mm f/1.8 MACRO IS STM will be available for a value of Rs. 40,995, the EF-M32mm f/1.4 STM will be available for a value of Rs. 34,995, l ‘EF400mm f/2.8L IS III USM will be available worth Rs. 9,69,995, EF600mm f/4L IS III USM will be available worth Rs. 10,50,995, EF Mount Adapter -EOS R will be available for a value of Rs. 7,995, EF-EOS R Management Ring Mount Adapter will be available for a value of Rs. 15,995, EF-EOS R Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter with ND filter will be available for a value of Rs. 31,995, while the EF-EOS R drop-in filter mount adapter with PL filter will likely be available for a value of Rs. 23,995.

The RF lens mount is excellence stability in optical, mechanical and digital engineering, enabling progressive full-frame lens designs, faster autofocus and high-speed communication between the digital camera and the goal.

The 54mm diameter RF mount is what sets the EOS R apart with its fast 20mm back focus and 12-pin contact factors for better communication between lens and body.

The company has sold 90 million EOS cameras and 130 million EF lenses to date.
