A Greater Manchester based film, television and photographic lighting rental specialist has been acquired by Sunbelt Rentals.
The acquisition of PKE Lighting strengthens Warrington-based Sunbelt Rentals’ proposition to the UK film and television industry following its recent purchase of Movietech.
Operating nationally, PKE provides services to a number of UK television shows and is well positioned to grow in the UK film market.
PKE and Movietech will work closely with William F. White International (WFW), a company specializing in film and television production rentals, and a Sunbelt Rentals company.
“This is a great opportunity for us to be under the same umbrella as Movietech and WFW, which will allow us to continue to be successful in the future,” said PKE Owner/Director Mike Pollard. “With Sunbelt’s support, we will be able to invest in additional inventory and rental solutions that will expand our equipment and service offerings for our customers.”
Andy Wright, Managing Director of Sunbelt Rentals UK, said: “These are exciting times for all of us as we expand our footprint in the UK TV and film market. The combined knowledge and expertise of PKE, Movietech and William F. White International will be a real differentiator for us and our film and television customers.
“The existing, dedicated and experienced team of Mike Pollard, Matt Evans and Chris Hughes will remain with the business and work alongside Sunbelt and WFW and help execute the exciting UK expansion plan.”
Garin Josey, Executive Vice President/COO, WFW, said, “We are delighted to welcome PKE to the WFW and Sunbelt Rentals family. PKE enjoys an incredible reputation in the UK market and shares our ambitions for growth and continued service to the film and television industry.”
Founded in 1991 and based in Irlam, PKE provides the film and television industry with an inventory of lighting equipment, transport options and generator sets in several locations across the UK.
The strategic acquisition of PKE further strengthens Sunbelt Rentals’ expansion strategy in the UK and the international film and television industry.
Advisers for the deal have yet to be disclosed.
